Last weekend, Kenmare Bay played host to the Bull Run for Fun 2026, a remarkable gathering of powerboats that brought together boating enthusiasts from across Ireland and beyond for a spectacular day on the water. Now in its 17th year, the event began in 2009 and has grown into one of the most anticipated boating weekends on the calendar. This year's Bull Run welcomed 87 boats and approximately 350 participants, making it another fantastic success for organisers, participants and the wider Kenmare community.

Based from Dromquinna Manor, the flotilla travelled through the stunning waters of Kenmare Bay on a cruise to the iconic Bull Rock before returning for an evening of celebrations. The event showcased not only the beauty of our coastline but also the warm hospitality that makes Kenmare such a special destination. Beyond the excitement on the water, the weekend delivered a meaningful boost to the local economy, with visitors supporting accommodation providers, cafés, restaurants, fuel stations and local businesses throughout the area.

Most importantly, the event also gave back to the community. Funds were raised (subject to final confirmation) for Derrynane Inshore Rescue, whose volunteer crews provide an invaluable emergency rescue service throughout Kenmare Bay in partnership with the Irish Coast Guard.

Kenmare Tourism would like to congratulate everyone involved in organising another hugely successful event, including the volunteers, sponsors, participants and supporters who continue to make the Bull Run for Fun such an important fixture in the local events calendar.

We look forward to welcoming the event back to Kenmare again next year. For more information and to become involved please email thebullrunforfun@gmail.com
