Kenmare Bay Diving
Kenmare has its very own Scuba Diving school with fun snorkeling and guided Scuba Diving trips for complete beginners to qualified divers running daily throughout the summer.
Adventurous scenic boat trips take you to explore tranquil island inlets, where one can enjoy the beautiful scenery and the amazing biodiversity of sea life found in the Kenmare Bay.
Beginners and qualified divers are carefully supervised by expert instructors, as they are guided in the underwater realm. The 3 hour 'Try a Dive' programme is hugely popular, pre- booking is essential. The Instructor provides a brief orientation, warm wet suits and whisks you off on an exhilarating boat trip to a beautiful shallow lagoon. Under your instructors careful supervision, you will learn to use scuba equipment in standing depth water as you take that first magical underwater breath. Then explore the lagoon and its host of abundant marine life.
For adventurers aged 12 upwards the special 3 hour beginner programme runs daily from the dive centre in the beautiful harbour of Kilmackilogue or you can be collected by boat from Oysterbed Pier in Sneem. For non divers, who wish to just take in the beautiful sea views, life jackets are available for hire. Staff provide informative commentary on the sites of interest and wildlife from bird life to dolphins and whales.
The Kenmare Bay is within a special area of conservation and diving in its beautiful waters is a truly a unique experience.
