  • Writer's Workshop "Critiquing Workshop" Facilitated by John W.Sexton

    Writing for children & Teen(For Adult writers This three-and-a-half-hour workshop will look at writing brought in by the participants, and will offer practical editorial advice for those interested in writing for the Children’s and Teen (Young Adult) market. The emphasis will be on fiction and longer narrative poems. In order to ensure that all participants receive considered and useful feedback, the workshop will be limited to eight places. The first thirty or so minutes will be devoted to a practical overview of what publishers expect in a manuscript. John W. Sexton is a highly experienced children’s writer and created and wrote the children’s science fiction comedy drama The Ivory Tower for RTÉ radio, which ran to over one hundred half-hour episodes from 1999 to 2002, and gained a cult following amongst both children and adults. His novels based on this series, The Johnny Coffin Diaries and Johnny Coffin School-Dazed are both published by The O’Brien Press. Tickets €30

  • The Lost Sheep Triathlon

    2019 will be the 17th annual running of The Lost Sheep. In that time it has gained a reputation, both nationally and internationally, as the toughest middle distance race on the Irish triathlon circuit. We are also proud to be part of a new race league in 2019. The Lost Sheep is one of nine select races in the new TRI MUNSTER LEAGUE. The race is open to all affiliated club members. There will be over-all league cash-prize winners, cash-prize age group winners and a Club Cup. Watch the CTC website for more information on the TRI MUNSTER LEAGUE.

Together, the snobbishly erudite pianist and the crudely practical bouncer can barely get along with their clashing attitudes to life and ideals. However, as the disparate pair witness and endure America's appalling injustices on the road, they find a newfound respect for each other's talents and start to face them together.
